A little about me...
I was born in a poor town in South Korea and moved to the U.S. when I was 9 years old, not knowing any english. Shortly after moving to the U.S. I was introduced to Christian music, which I did not know existed. I quickly found myself spending hours a day listening to Christian music (on the radio and cassette tapes). I remember saving up every chance I could in order to buy cassettes at the local Christian bookstore. In fact, one of my first jobs in high school was at a Christian bookstore, mainly so I could get discounts on the music!
I started writing songs in elementary school...not for anyone else to see or hear. I did it because I loved music and it was a way to express my relationship with God. Music became such a huge part of my life and a vital part of helping me grow in my faith in God. I eventually joined the worship team at church, as the "modern worship" movement started spreading throughout the UK and US.
I was greatly influenced by worship leaders like: Matt Redman, Darrell Evans, Delirious?, Tim Hughes, and Sonicflood. I was also hugely influenced by Christian hip-hop/gospel rap by the likes of Gospel Gangstaz, DC Talk, Cross Movement, and many others you probably haven't heard of. In high school and college I released 3 of my own Christian hip-hop albums, self-producing two of them.
In June 2006, I started a worship podcast and resource called All About Worship. In January 2011, I founded a podcast and resource for worship songwriters called, Kingdom Songs. During my time leading these two ministries, I had the honor of helping thousands of worship leaders and songwriters around the globe, as well as developing relationships with numerous artists and leaders in the Christian music industry. In 2015 I passed the baton of both of those organizations to a close friend.
I currently live in Nashville, TN with my beautiful wife and four kids. I work full-time as the Sr. Marketing Manager at a Christian record label. I'm very passionate about helping people worldwide experience the manifest presence of God through worship. I count it a huge honor to be a small part of that through my job.
I have over 15 years of ministry experience and over 10 years of marketing experience. My ministry experience includes being a worship leader, youth pastor, event coordinator, and case worker (helping refugees and the homeless). I've had (or continue to have) the privilege of leading album and/or song marketing strategies and campaigns for Lauren Daigle, Paul Baloche, All Sons & Daughters, Darlene Zschech, Gateway Worship, Darrell Evans, Greg Sykes, Dustin Smith, Alisa Turner, Integrity Music, and Centricity Music, among others.
